GH Aleksi is a place for artists, designers, scientists and consumers to meet on common ground where ideas can grow. Ideas that help the people, communities, companies, society, and the environment.
Kirsikka Simberg has helped curate the collection of the store. At GH Aleksi you will discover a variety of Nordic sustainable brands and actors. Skall Studio, Aiayu from Denmark meet with Vuokko Nurmesniemi dresses and smaller, sustainable Finnish actors like Tauko, Ordbord jewellery and revamped clogs from Hanna Sarén. Berlin-born bookstore do you read me?! also has an instrumental role in the concept. Reading, knowledge, books and magazines open minds for understanding the world around us and will help on the journey for the future-oriented vision. Lokal Helsinki, as part of the Glasshouse Helsinki, continues promoting the local artisans and artist works in its own space.

As for now, the first floor will be open. The second-floor art exhibition space will open later inJune.
”To celebrate Helsinki Biennale, Glasshouse Helsinki is collaborating with Helsinki Art Museum HAM. The second floor will open June 12th”, says Anna Vartiainen, Glasshouse Helsinki CCO.
The first exhibition in June is by Lokal Helsinki artists. There are installations on both floors of GH Aleksi. ”One highlight is the Hidaka Ohmu, the seaweed pavillion by Julia Lohmann. The pavillion is an immersive, multi-sensory experience.”
