By Glasshouse Helsinki

Vallila is a Finnish family business specializing in interior decoration and fabrics, established by Swiss Otto Berner in Vallila, Helsinki, in 1935. Vallila Interior has been recognised as a trendsetter in Scandinavian design with its bold and playful collection, inspired by the Finnish landscape and way of life. Fashion designers Rolf Ekroth and Wataru Tominaga have each designed two prints and several different rainproof jackets for the collection. Ekroths camouflage prints are based on willowherb and other flowers found on Finnish summer meadows, whereas Tominagas prints have been inspired by the vibrancy of the colors of a tropical garden after the rain.

At Vallila corporate responsibility is divided into dimensions that cover Vallila as an organisation, customers, products, employees, supply chain and environment. The company ensures that  customers receive a fair compensation for the money spent and that the manufacturing process meets environmental goals without the use of harmful chemicals. Through responsible and sustainable sourcing, Vallila ensures that the business is on a sustainable base. The company values transparency in the supply chain transparency, supply chain working conditions and human rights and purchase policies.
