Karo Koru was born out of the corona pandemic in Los Angeles. Koru is the Finnish word for jewellery. The founder of the company Karo Kangas is a make-up artist from Lapland. Each piece of jewellery is wholly unique, made in a little home studio in Los Angeles. The desire to treat the world a little better is expressed in each handmade necklace. Karo Koru is that tribute to childhood, homeland, and to the customer.  

The jewellery reflects the philosophy of Karo Koru to venerate nature and minimize the waste of the modern lives and being gentle on our planet. All the beads, pearls, glassware, are either recycled, dead stock, or repurposed to minimize additional environmental impact. The wire, locks, and Karo Koru tags are made from stainless steel and/or silver. The packaging is exclusively recycled and recyclable materials. Karo Koru avoids plastics and any non-recyclable material that isn’t necessary.
